UAS-DTU bagged the first spot for ‘Flying Formation Challenge’ at the Drone Olympics at biennial Aero India Show 2019 among 20 other teams which mainly comprised of hi-tech start-ups and research institutes who flaunted their Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). UAS-DTU also received prize money of Rs. 5 lakh including a developmental kit from Lockheed Martin and would further be trained for the AlphaPilot, an open innovation challenge in the US. They also exhibited a stall under the R&D Department of the Indian Air Force (IAF).
UAS-DTU is now participating in the Mehar Baba Prize Competition organised by the Indian Air Force which has a winning amount of Rs. 10 lakh and also includes 10 crores of developmental funding and 100 crores of procurement order by the Indian Air Force (IAF).
