TEDxDTU '19 : Power of Doubt

The 4th edition of TEDxDTU was organised at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Auditorium, DTU on 5 April 2019, where 8 esteemed speakers imparted knowledge on the Power of Doubt.’ The event was witnessed by over 100 people, including Prof. Yogesh Singh, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, DTU alongside inspired students and faculty members of Delhi Technological University.

The guest speakers included Vicky Roy, a Forbes 30 under 30 Asia recipient in 2016, who is a social worker and uses photography to uplift the underprivileged. Karan Sindhu is the first Indian to get his eyeball tattooed and spoke about how doubt can stop people from taking leaps of faith. Aman Sanduja, the founder of TowardsBlockChain, works on promoting cryptocurrencies. Originally an engineer, he spoke about not doubting one's capacity.

Rahul Kharbanda is a magician based in Delhi who combines technology and sleight of hand. Leena Kejriwal, a social worker and avid photographer, works on spreading awareness about sex trafficking. She presented an exhaustive analysis of the world of trafficking and how it impacts lives. Nikita Sharma is a model, microbiologist and Founder of ‘Silver Linings’, an association that spreads cancer awareness. She spoke about losing dear ones to cancer at a young age and how it led to her working towards this cause.

Ram Sampath is an Indian music producer and Filmfare nominee. He spoke on doubt in the context of his career in the music industry. Ashish Joshi, CEO of Jawa Motorcycles, talked about how doubt breeds hesitation and often stops people from following their passion.

Through their talks, the speakers spoke about various facets of the theme, such as doubt being proof of the fact that we are using our rationality, and how, while doubt may be a negative emotion, when controlled can provide the strongest motivation.
