Engifest takes DTU by Storm

background

Engifest, the annual cultural festival of DTU, was organised by the Cultural Council from 15th to 17th February. This edition of the fest was themed ‘Rise Above Reality’ and saw large footfall on all three days of celebration. The festival began with a formal inauguration ceremony attended by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh, followed by a Kavi Sammelan. More than fifty cultural events were organised over the three days by the numerous university societies, which saw participation from universities all over Delhi and northern India. The university was seen buzzing with excitement around the clock as several events, formal and informal, were organised at all the hotspots of campus and along the periphery of the OAT, including Food City, photo booths, karaoke, zorbing, ziplining and beach volleyball. A YouTube Fan Fiesta was also organised that witnessed twelve popular YouTubers interacting with the crowd at the OAT. Tie-ups with foreign embassies including Israel and Ukraine saw talented foreign artists entertaining the gathering with their performances in the International Fiesta. The Humor Fest included stand-up acts by the likes of Nishant Tanwar and Rahul Dua over the course of three days. The main attractions on the first day of the fest were the Bollywood music composers Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani performing live to a jam-packed concert ground in LiveWire. The second evening saw Punjabi music industry artist Mankirt Aulakh perform his chartbusters to a boisterous crowd. The three-day extravaganza ended on a high note as the crowd grooved to the beats of international EDM artist DJ Quintino on the final evening of Engifest 2019.
